A recent survey was conducted by Bankrate.com tin the largest city of each state to determine which states had the highest fees for loan origination fees, appraisals, title and insurance in 2012. They came up with the following findings, so if you're in one of these states and you’re wondering how much house I can afford, be sure to check around for the best deal:

how-to-buy-a-house-with-bad-credit-Maine
The DIY Network and HGTV are running a contest, which is different from the Luxury High Rise Condo in Miami Contest I wrote about the other day, where you can win a vacation home in Maine. The house is a fully furnished and renovated circa-1884 high-posted cape located in Waldoboro, Maine. The house has three bedrooms and two bathrooms and over 3,000 square feet of living space. You can enter twice a day up until Sept 28th, once at DIYNetwork and once at HGTV so what are you waiting for. Maine is a beautiful place to vacation and this is an awesome house!

Remember, if you don't win, which I hope you do. Actually I'm entering so I kinda hope I do, you can still buy the home of your dreams and if your worried about cash for a down payment just check out this guide on how to buy a house with bad credit

I know I normally preach how easy it is to buy a house without a down payment. However, if you can win a high rise luxury condo in Miami, that is pretty good too! So if you are interested in entering the contest, HGTV has a few home giveaways a year and right now you can still enter for the one in Miami. You can enter two times a day, once at HGTV.com and once at FrontDoor.com so if Miami is your style, go for it.

But, if you don't win just remember, you can still buy a house without a down payment and terrible credit and that includes condo's in Miami!
